Services - Investigator Sites

A key pre-requisite for the success of a study is the selection of investigators. Klinikos has a bank of pre-qualified investigator sites throughout the UK suitable for phase II-IV clinical trials.

They range from:

• GP investigators (64 GP practices)
• Hospital specialists (various therapy areas including cardiovascular, oncology and CNS)
• SMOs (wholly owned, broker model and networks)

As well as advising on the type of investigator, Klinikos can advise on the methods of patient recruitment (database, advertising, outpatient clinic, etc.) as different conditions depend on specific recruitment methods.

As an example...

Klinikos is regularly asked to suggest experienced investigators for different therapy areas. Depending on the study, Klinikos will advise on the best route to identify patients.

One sponsor started a Type II Diabetes study with hospital consultants. After 3 months, only 2 patients had been randomised from 12 sites.

Klinikos knew that these patients were under GPs and an SMO was contracted to randomise 100 patients - the target was achieved after 6 months recruitment.
