EDC Investigator Training and Recruitment

A Pharmaceutical client required 110 GP Clinical Investigator centres in the UK and Ireland to participate in a long term phase IV risk factor drug study. Klinikos was briefed by the marketing department of the company to identify, select, initiate and monitor the sites.

From past experience, Klinikos persuaded the medical department to invest more time (and money) to choose sites on the basis of past performance in both the therapy area and experience of Electronic Data Entry (EDC).

Outcome

Klinikos identified the appropriate number of sites from their pre qualified data base and targeted communication with new sites resulted in successful recruitment of 3,500 patients (25% of European total – 8 countries involved) within the Sponsor’s timelines.
